Privacy Policy

In short: TallyCue collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and everything it does stays on your local network.

What the app connects to

TallyCue connects only to the OBS Studio computer you set up, either by scanning OBS's Connect Info QR code or by entering its address, over your local network, using OBS's built-in WebSocket server.

It sends control commands (switch scene, mute a source, start or stop streaming or recording) and receives status from OBS: your scene list, audio levels, performance stats and, with Pro, preview snapshots of your OBS output. OBS's WebSocket server does not support encryption, so this traffic is not encrypted on your local network. Use TallyCue on networks you trust.

What is stored on your device

• The name, address and port of your OBS connection(s).
• Your OBS WebSocket password, encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore.
• Your display preferences (theme, preview rate, disk warning level, keep-screen-on).
• Whether you have purchased Pro.

This information never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

What we collect

Nothing. TallyCue has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash-reporting service. We never receive your OBS password, your stream content or any information about how you use the app.

Purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is sold through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We receive only confirmation that a purchase is valid, never your payment details.

QR code scanning

Scanning uses Google Play services' code scanner. The camera image is processed on your device by Google Play services and is not shared with us. TallyCue itself does not request camera permission.

This website

tallycue.app uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts or fonts. Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Children

TallyCue is not directed at children and does not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
